add the Penzey's Hot Curry Seasoning to taste ( I use about 1 tablespoon for two cans of garbanzo beans), a sprinkling of the hot pepper flakes again to taste. I want the seasonings to "cook" before adding the garbanzo beans. You will notice that the seasonings, the shallots, the garlic and the oil will become a paste.
at the garbanzo beans stir into the shallot and garlic seasoning paste and then salt to taste. (Remember not to use too much salt!)
